Legendary Club NME is heading to Australia for the first time this February, with the first of a series of regular club nights.
Since its inception in 2004, Club NME has established itself as one of the UKs longest running and premier club nights to showcase hot new bands and the finest DJs. With six UK clubs and nine venues across Europe and the US, theyve finally decided to grace our shores in February.
To set the night off with a bang Club NME has enlisted some of the east coasts best party starters including Philadelphia Grand Jury, Yacht Club DJs, Purple Sneakers DJs plus legendary bassist for The Smiths Andy Rourke appearing in DJ mode.
After smashing it in 2009 with the release of their critically-lauded, fan-winning debut Hope is For Hopers, the Philadelphia Grand Jury are no strangers to a raucous party environment. With their energetic stage presence and darn catchy tunes the Philly Jays will no doubt win you over.
Melbourne mash-up maestros Yacht Club DJs blend the perfect combination of new tunes with old classics and a sprinkling of cheesy
jams. The boys have become permanent fixtures on the festival circuit and club night scene due to their ability to get the whole room moving with their non-stop onslaught of party tunes.
Purple Sneakers DJs have been a staple in the Sydney indie club scene for years. They drop dance floor bombs, play the latest indie
tunes as well as older indie faves and always manage to impress.
The opening of Club NME wouldnt be complete without an iconic guest. Legendary UK musician Andy Rourke, best known as the bassist for The Smiths, has been touring the world over in DJ mode and will be representing the mother country at the inaugural Club NME.
